TCP Viewer captures and displays all data that is transferred between client processes and a server process communicating through TCP / IP. The process can be run on the same machine or different machines, located anywhere on a network or on the internet. TCP Viewer can run on a different machine from the machine (s) that processes are running. An example of a client and server is a web browser and a web server. TCP Viewer can be used by a developer to debug protocol problems or by anyone curious about what data is transmitted between processes. TCP View displays its output in a text box scroll. These data can be transmitted in a file. By default, only 32KB of data are stored in the text box scroll. Data higher limits can be selected, including unlimited. However, TCP Viewer works more slowly than the amount of data in the text box scroll grows. It manages more than one connection. Based on first transferred message, TCP Viewer will determine if the protocol is text-based. If this is the case, each test TCP Viewer message to text. If a message contains text only, TCP View sample as such. Otherwise, TCP View displays in hexadecimal and ASCII.
